Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Compensation: $28.00 – $38.00 / hour (Dependent on RDAEF licensing tier, experience, and certifications)

Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and patient-focused Registered Dental Assistant with Extended Functions (RDAEF / RDAEF2) to join our growing clinical team. In this role, you will work alongside our dentists to deliver comprehensive care, perform expanded clinical procedures, and ensure our patients enjoy a comfortable, stress-free visit.
Key Responsibilities Clinical & Extended Functions- Perform restorative expanded functions within the California Dental Board scope of practice (e.g., placing, contouring, and finishing restorations, taking final impressions, placing cord, and fitting/testing restorations).
- Take digital intraoral scans (iTero®), digital X-rays, and 3D CBCT images.
- Assist dentists in four-handed dentistry across various procedures, including general, cosmetic, restorative, and surgical care.
- Fabricate, adjust, and cement provisional/temporary crowns and bridges.
- Apply pit and fissure sealants, topical fluoride, and topical anesthetics.
- Administer coronal polishing and patient oral hygiene instruction.
- Prepare, sterilize, and disinfect treatment rooms and clinical instruments according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Review medical histories, take vital signs, and prepare patients for treatment.
- Clearly explain treatment plans, post-operative care, and preventive procedures to patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes in the practice management software.
- License: Active California RDAEF (or RDAEF2) license in good standing.
- Certifications: Active CPR/BLS certification. California Dental Radiation Safety (X-ray) certification. Coronal Polish and Pit & Fissure Sealant certifications.
- Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience as an RDAEF preferred (experienced RDAs currently completing RDAEF programs are encouraged to apply).

Skills:
Familiarity with digital workflows (scanners, digital X-rays, paperless charts). Experience with CEREC or Dentrix is a plus. - Soft Skills: Excellent communication, strong attention to detail, and a warm, empathetic bedside manner.
