Summary:
Teachers at Eden play vital roles in delivering high quality education within Eden Classical Academy’s Grammar program (K-6), Logic Program (7-8) and Rhetoric Program (9-11). Each teaching position requires a commitment to the philosophy and pedagogy of Classical Christian Education (CCE) principles and a passion for nurturing young minds through engaging and effective instruction. Each teacher collaborates closely with fellow teachers, administrators, parents, and students to create a supportive and enriching learning environment that fosters academic growth, character development and a love for learning.
Qualifications:
Teachers at Eden must have a clear testimony of faith in Christ and be a growing disciple. It is required that teachers be members of a faithful local church. Agreement with Doxa Church’s doctrinal statement is required. At least 2 years of teaching experience is preferred. Teachers need to demonstrate consistent classroom management, quality communication skills, engaging lesson plans, and a growing understanding of CCE.
Most of all, a love for the Lord, for the students and families, and for the subject(s) being taught must be evident in an Eden Teacher.
Essential
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Character Development:
Instill Christian virtues and character development through intentional instruction and modeling of Christ-likeness in thought, word, and action. - Lesson Planning:
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum objectives and cater to the individual learning needs of students. - Classroom Instruction & Management:
Provide effective and engaging classroom instruction. Establish a positive & disciplined classroom environment, managing student behavior and creating a culture of respect, responsibility and active participation. - Student Assessment:
Regularly assess student progress (demonstrated evidence of learning) and provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents, ensuring ongoing academic growth. - Parent Communication &
Collaboration:
Maintain regular communication with parents, providing updates on student progress, addressing concerns, and fostering a collaborative relationship between home and school.
Professional Development:
- Attend all teacher workshops and trainings before school year begins and after the school year ends and attend monthly Professional Development meetings.
Miscellaneous:
- Remain involved in Eden school activities including but not limited to:
Serve Day, Fundraising events, Olympiad and the Exordium. - Be available to be a primary substitute to at least one other teacher.
