Fire Sprinkler Designer - Rocklin​/Sacramento

Overview

COSCO Fire Protection is a multifaceted, full-service fire sprinkler and life safety systems company specializing in the installation, service and inspection of a wide variety of automatic fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm (life safety systems), kitchen suppression, extinguishers and special hazard systems throughout the West Coast.

Notes:
Other duties may be assigned.

• Attend project turnover meetings with design supervisor, project manager and field superintendent.
• Use Auto Sprink, AutoCAD and related tools to create fire sprinkler design drawings and submittal packages within the limits of system specifications, costs and planning.
• Prepare submittal documents and applications for permit.
• Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for installation.
• BIM modeling for coordination using Navisworks and Revit.
• Stock listing and purchasing of all material for projects.
• Maintain project drawing files, associated records and documentation in an orderly condition.
• Develop and maintain updated library of symbols & drawings (templates) for use on future projects.
• Develop spreadsheets and other tools to increase quality of drawings while decreasing time required on standard tasks.
• Operation of large plotter, scanner and reproduction equipment.
• Be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum 3 years of Fire Sprinkler Design experience utilizing CAD or Auto Sprink software
• Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with all basic computer skills and software applications including MS Office & AutoCAD 2018 or higher.
• Proficient in reading and understanding Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical layouts and diagrams.
• Basic working knowledge and understanding of fire alarm related electronics, codes and practices.
• Thorough working knowledge and understanding of NFPA codes & standards.
• Strong ability to follow directions given by supervisor to develop / design drawings.
• Good driving record with valid driver's license.
• Fire Certifications a plus.
