Position: Production Planner / Scheduler

Position Summary

Roseville Precision, Inc. is seeking an experienced Planner / Scheduler to manage and maintain the production schedule in a fast-paced precision sheet metal manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring on-time delivery by balancing customer commitments, material availability, labor capacity, and shop constraints.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working cross-functionally with Operations, Purchasing, Engineering, and Sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and adjust the production schedule to support on-time delivery.
  • Plan and sequence jobs across work centers (laser, punch, forming, welding, finishing, assembly).
  • Monitor capacity, lead times, and bottlenecks
    , and proactively recommend schedule adjustments.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to align material availability with production needs.
  • Communicate schedule priorities and changes clearly to production leadership and stakeholders.
  • Track job status, past-due orders, and delivery risks; escalate issues early.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling data within the ERP system (
    JobBOSS² / E2 preferred
    ).
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to scheduling accuracy, flow, and throughput.
  • Participate in production meetings and provide scheduling insights and reporting.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in production planning and scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in precision sheet metal, machining, or fabrication strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems ( a plus).
  • Strong understanding of shop floor processes, capacity planning, and constraints.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard office tools.
