General Summary
The Tool and Die Journeyperson will work in one of several departments within the facility, focusing on accurate production of parts from engineering prints, applying tolerances, and maintaining and repairing tools, dies, and related components. Primary operations include milling, turning, grinding, heat treating, CNC programming, assembly, and try‑out.
Available Shift1st Shift – 6:00am to 2:00pm.
Duties & Responsibilities- Operate CNC and manual lathes, milling machines, grinders, and general tool‑room equipment.
- Use precision measuring tools to fit and assemble jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies.
- Set up, run, and test tools and dies to produce products to specification.
- troubleshoot and repair machinery and die sets.
- Read and interpret blueprints or work from verbal, written instructions, or part to be copied or fitted.
- Assist with sheet‑metal fabrication and manufacturing processes (a plus).
- Comply with all company and federal safety rules, wearing required PPE and responding to safety concerns.
- Work effectively in a team environment while remaining self‑directed as situations require.
- Operate a crane and lift up to 50pounds on a regular basis.
- Use a computer proficiently and communicate well; CAD experience is required, welding a plus.
- Extensive technical or specialized training, typically 2–3 years of college or technical school.
- 0 to 5 years of work experience preferred.
- Journeyperson card preferred.
- Lift up to 50pounds frequently during an 8‑hour shift.
- Bend, stoop, push, and pull in a busy work environment for up to 8hours.
- Climb ladders or scaffolding frequently during an 8‑hour shift.
- Stand for up to 8hours.
- Grip, manipulate, and hold small parts with fingers.
- Hear alarms, sirens, or mechanical equipment.
- See without visual impairments (depth, peripheral, color, and acuity 20/40 or better).
