Position: Sacramento Area Campus Life Staff, Rocklin Area Campus Life HS Rocklin, CA

Reports to Campus Ministries Director. Responsible for, but not limited to, operating and overseeing Whitney High Campus Life, Rocklin High Campus Life, and Granite Oaks MS Campus Life.

Essential Functions

Working with kids can require evening, weekend, and holiday work. 25 hour workweek includes starting, maintaining and growing several campus clubs. Regular planning meetings with YFC and CL ministry teams resulting in synergy and momentum in ministry. Evaluation of ministry strategy, applying the Campus Life model and YFC best practices, resulting in regular ministry activity on campus, at the Barn, and in the community.

Building a volunteer team in order to expand the CL footprint, increasing total Authentic Christ-Sharing Relationships (ACSR’s) over time. Recruiting, training, and supervision of ministry volunteers providing leadership development as assigned. Resourcing the team as they implement effective ministry. Community collaboration and fund development including Mission Focused Funding activities.

Spiritual Responsibilities

Because the overriding religious purpose and mission of Youth For Christ USA is to communicate and introduce the Gospel of Jesus Christ to young people and their families, and in that regard to make, educate and encourage life-long disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, it is very important that you as an employee in the movement of Youth For Christ be recognized as an associate minister of the Gospel.

  • Seek God’s guidance and wisdom, through prayer and meditation, for the organization as a whole as well as for specific ministry initiatives.
  • Participate and lead regular times of prayer, devotion and worship as a regular aspect of your role within YFC.
  • Teach and preach from the Bible at YFC staff meetings, conferences, camps and events.
  • Model empathy, humility and care for all people, regardless of race, background, or faith expression.

Additionally, YFC employees will have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through the established Youth For Christ process, and/or ordained by an outside body recognized by Youth For Christ USA.

Budget Responsibilities

Most expenses will be directed and approved by supervisor for the assigned Campus Life Clubs and Events.

All YFC employees are expected to regularly and actively participate in faithful activities that advance the stewardship functions of YFC. These activities will include—but are not limited to— extending invitations to fund raising events, recruiting personal circle of influence/YFC donor contacts, sending letters, handwritten notes, personal calls, and personally ministering to donor contacts.

YFC may attach a minimum fundraising goal to certain projects, activities, departments, or individuals.
