SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
PRIMARY
PURPOSE:
Substitute teachers play a key role in the continuation of instructional services and supervision of students when regular employees must be absent from the classroom. Substitute teachers must feel comfortable with face-to-face instruct with students.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND PREREQUISITES:
* Must have ONE of the following:
Texas or Out-of-State Teaching Certificate or a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution; OR an Associate's Degree from an accredited institution; OR a college transcript showing at least 48 hours of course credit; OR an ACISD Substitute Training Certificate (TOPS) or Substitute Training Certificate from a recognized entity
* Criminal background check and fingerprinting (one time charge of $48.00) will be required
* Applicants will be screened, references checked and work history will be reviewed to determine if the applicant meets the qualifications and the needs of the district
Daily Rate:
Paraprofessional/Clerical- $80.00
48 college hours or substitute training course - $90.00
College degree (no teaching certification) - $100.00
Valid teaching certificate - $115.00
