Campus Minister
The Campus Minister will coordinate service projects and trips; plan and direct spirituality based programs and activities for students; provide pastoral care to students and encourage spiritual and moral growth; promote the University's Dominican and Catholic mission and identity with emphasis on the four pillars of study, service, community and spirituality for the entire Molloy community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Service Programming and Community Engagement
- Develops, coordinates, and assesses student service opportunities that reflect Molloy University's Dominican commitment to service and justice.
- Oversees and supports programs such as Midnight Runs, soup kitchens, Mary Brennan INN, etc.
- Recruits, forms, and supports student participation in service initiatives and reflection activities.
- Spirituality Programming and Faith Development
- Designs and facilitates opportunities for spiritual growth and faith exploration for students of diverse religious and spiritual backgrounds.
- Coordinates retreats, Dominicans Young Adults (DYA) initiatives, religious diversity programming, Agape Latte, prayer experiences, and faith-sharing opportunities.
- Collaborates with students, faculty, staff, and community partners to advance interfaith dialogue and spiritual formation.
- Liturgical and Prayer Planning
- Coordinates liturgies, prayer services, and worship opportunities for the campus community in collaboration with the Administrative Coordinator of Campus Ministries.
- Coordinates liturgical music ministry.
- Promotes student participation in weekly and Sunday Masses and other sacramental celebrations.
- Student Engagement, Pastoral Care and Leadership Development
- Provides pastoral presence, spiritual accompaniment, and referral support to students.
- Cultivates a welcoming and inclusive campus ministry environment.
- Conducts outreach to students and supports their personal, spiritual, and moral development.
- Recruits, trains, mentors, and supervises student leaders, including music ministry leaders, retreat leaders and DYA chairs.
- Collaborates with Student Affairs and other campus partners to enhance student engagement and mission-focused programing.
- Administrative, Assessment and Institutional Service
- Maintains program records, assessments, reports, and communications, including social media.
- Participates in staff meetings, committee work, and institutional initiatives.
- Provides reports and recommendations to the Vice President for Mission and Ministry and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 1 to 3 years of experience
- Experience working in campus ministry or similar working with a student population.
- Knowledge of the Dominican tradition.
- Knowledge of the Catholic faith including liturgical traditions.
- Experience with events and program planning.
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Salary Information
When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as job knowledge, skills, and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring annual salary for this position is $50,000 to $60,000. This annual salary represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
