Chesapeake Search Partners has partnered with a reputable manufacturing company based in Harford County, MD in search of a Senior Accountant to join their team. This is a great opportunity to work closely with the company’s Controller and get involved in a variety of impactful accounting functions—including financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory analysis, and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Own key parts of the month-end close process: journal entries, reconciliations, reporting & analysis
• Partner with operations to analyze manufacturing performance, track efficiencies, and identify variances
• Prepare and distribute daily labor efficiency reports, weekly financial snapshots, KPIs, and other ad hoc reports
• Support year-end audit work—build schedules (asset roll-forwards, depreciation tie-outs, etc.) and manage audit requests
• Collaborate with the Controller and Plant Leadership on sales, cost, variance, and margin analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and standard costing
• SAP experience and strong Excel skills are a must
• Analytical mindset with a knack for solving problems and staying organized
