Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting
The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in the financial management of our organization, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective financial controls. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions and leading a team of accounting professionals. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, demonstrating progressive growth within the field of accountancy.
The candidate should be highly motivated, ambitious, and seeking rapid advancement opportunities. Experience with Win Team or a similar accounting software and familiarity with the Government Contracting environment are highly desirable.
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting principles.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
- Monitor and analyze financial data, providing insightful reports and recommendations to the CEO and executive team to support decision-making.
- Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and accounting standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to promote their professional growth and enhance departmental performance.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and government agencies for audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes, identify opportunities for process improvements, and implement best practices.
- Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities to support effective financial planning and resource allocation.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and industry trends, ensuring compliance and recommending necessary adjustments to accounting practices.
- Assist in special projects, financial analyses, and ad hoc reporting as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, demonstrating career growth within the field of accountancy.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, with experience in financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Experience with Win Team or a similar accounting software is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in the Government Contracting environment is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Days to Close:
Number of business days required to close the books and submit finalized financial reports to management and regulatory authorities at the end of the accounting period (monthly/quarterly/yearly). - Finance Error Rate:

The percentage of incoming or outgoing payments that were not completed due to a processing error.
