Staff Accountant

Description

We are recruiting a Staff Accountant to join a reputable Real Estate Development firm based in Rockville, MD. As Staff Accountant, you will support the financial operations of a dynamic company by managing accounts payable and receivable processes, reconciling transactions, and maintaining financial records. The ideal candidate will bring at least two years of accounting experience and a commitment to precision and efficiency.

Staff Accountant - Responsibilities:

- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and expense management.

- Reconcile financial records such as bank statements, vendor accounts, and corporate credit card transactions.

- Prepare and update detailed financial reports and spreadsheets to ensure accurate record-keeping.

- Assist with month-end, quarterly, and year-end financial closing activities.

- Organize and maintain both digital and physical filing systems for accounting documents.

- Process employee expense reimbursements and corporate credit card charges.

- Provide necessary documentation and support during audits.

- Respond to inquiries from vendors, clients, and internal team members regarding billing and payment matters.

- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, document scanning, and correspondence.

- Collaborate with the accounting team on special financial projects as required.

Requirements

- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping (internship experience considered).

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; familiarity with accounting software.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in financial data.

- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and integrity.

Salary range: $70, DOE.
