Job Summary

The Anatomic Pathology Administrative Coordinator at the Regional Lab Rockville (RLR) serves to coordinate the administrative, secretarial, and logistical support to the Chief Of Pathology Services and the Anatomic Pathology Department. The Anatomic Pathology Administrative Coordinator provides primary oversight and training of the Administrative Secretary of Anatomic Pathology and will process as well as maintain confidential patient information.

The position will include the managing of the workflow in the Anatomic Pathology Department, upholding Kaiser Permanentes policies and procedures, the Principles of Responsibility, accreditation standards, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

630a-3p Mon-Fri with occasional weekends or holiday support as needed.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Is responsible for the training of the Anatomic Pathology Administrative Secretary as it relates to duties and functions.
Basic Qualifications Experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of administrative support management experience or general administrative pathology laboratory experience
  • Per the National Agreement, current KP Coalition employees have this experience requirement waived.
Education
  • High School Diploma required or equivalent.
License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A
Additional Requirements
  • Knowledge of general office procedures required.
  • Ability to transcribe from dictation machine required.
  • Ability to type 55-60 wpm w/ one year previous work experience in a secretarial capacity required.
  • General Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training in Medical Terminology preferred.
  • Associates degree in business or health care related or Bachelors Degree preferred.
