The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for supporting successful project execution through effective schedule management, cost control, performance reporting, and risk mitigation. This role partners with project managers, finance teams, and organizational leadership to ensure accurate tracking, insightful analysis, and clear communication of project health and progress.

Key Responsibilities Schedule Management
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules.
  • Track key milestones and deliverables to ensure timely execution.
  • Analyze schedule performance and progress against established baselines.
Cost Control
  • Prepare cost estimates and support project budgeting activities.
  • Monitor and track project expenses to maintain budget alignment.
  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) to assess cost and schedule performance.
Performance Reporting
  • Generate accurate, timely reports on project cost, schedule status, and overall performance.
  • Present findings to project stakeholders and leadership.
Risk & Change Management
  • Identify potential project risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate and manage the impact of change orders on cost, schedule, and resources.
Resource Management
  • Monitor resource allocation and utilization to ensure project efficiency.
  • Coordinate with project teams to resolve resourcing issues.
Data Analysis
  • Analyze project data to provide insights, trends, and recommendations.
  • Support informed decision‑making through clear and concise data interpretation.
Stakeholder Communication
  • Collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and executives to maintain alignment on project goals and issues.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and impacts in a clear and professional manner.
Education & Experience
  • Associates degree required;
    Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a projects‑related role and/or administrative support role, preferably with oil and gas, energy, or utility projects.
