Safety Officer Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to join our team at the Bethesda Naval Hospital project. This is a full-time position requiring a commitment until mid-2028, working in collaboration with the safety manager to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel. Responsibilities- Provide daily incident reporting and ensure compliance with PPE and safety precautions on site.
- Work directly with the full-time safety manager to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and evaluations.
- Implement and monitor OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety training sessions.
- Recent OSHA training within the last 2 years.
- Minimum of 2 years of construction knowledge with a focus on safety.
- Proficiency in OSHA 30, site safety, and safety management.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with PPE compliance and safety monitoring.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety procedures.
- Effective communication skills for delivering safety training.
The Safety Officer will work on site, operating out of a project trailer. The role involves reporting to a roaming safety manager and collaborating with other team members as needed. This position requires the ability to work independently while being supported by other members on site. The work environment is dynamic, and adherence to safety protocols is paramount.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Rockville, MD.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $29.00/hr.
