The MEP Manager assures that subcontractors provide the highest quality of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction services in accordance with project-specific cost and schedule requirements. The position reports to the Project Executive.

Requirements
  • Required Education
    • Engineering, Construction Management, or Business (or equivalent work experience)
  • Required Experience
    • Minimum of five (5) years of construction experience with working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction procedures and practices.
    • Successful track record in all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction.
    • Experience dealing with MEP subcontractors.
    • Prior history managing staff.
  • Required Skills
    • Experience with construction project management software (Procore and P6).
    • General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction of projects.
Responsibilities/Duties
  • Planning
    • Achieve a detailed understanding of the contract documents (drawings and specifications), phasing plans, MEP systems interrelationships, construction sequencing, and project schedule.
  • Coordination
    • Lead the composite coordination drawings process and facilitate problem solving between MEP subcontractors during the coordination drawings process.
    • Validate design issues and develop suggested alternative solutions before forwarding them to the PM.
  • Assistance to design and construction team as appropriate
    • Assist the design team in resolution of MEP issues.
    • Assist PM in receipt and review of MEP submittals.
    • Log and post all MEP changes and as-built information on field drawings.
    • Assist PM with scope review, budgeting, and justification of MEP change order work.
  • Supervision
    • Supervise the installation of MEP work and other work as deemed appropriate by management.
    • Lead periodic (as warranted by the job) on-site coordination meetings with the subcontractors’ foremen.
    • Participate in all meetings conducted by the Superintendent with foremen.
    • Supervise the testing and commissioning of new MEP equipment.
  • Other
    • Attend as assigned all Grunley in-house and external training programs.
    • Maintain awareness of Grunley’s employment recruiting program and provide leadership and assistance in recruiting as appropriate.
