Overview

We are a family-owned and operated electrical company who has been in business for 30 years, built on the belief of doing what you say you will do. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for our team members, their families, and our customers — and we accomplish that through constant communication, education, empowerment, integrity, respect, and quality. When you join our team, you are not just taking a job;

you are becoming part of a company that genuinely invests in the people who make it great.

Position Overview

As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive bids and proposals for commercial electrical projects throughout the DMV area. You will perform detailed takeoffs, develop labor and material costs, source vendor quotes, and partner closely with the Project Manager to ensure a smooth handoff from bid to execution. The ideal candidate has strong proficiency with McCormick s Estimating Software, the ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, and a background in the electrical trade.

If you are detail-oriented, take pride in producing thorough, well-supported estimates, and want to grow with a company that values your expertise, this role is for you.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial electrical projects, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, and overhead.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from electrical drawings and project specifications using McCormick s Estimating Software.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents; identify potential risks, scope ambiguities, or value-engineering opportunities and surface them early.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for materials and specialty work; maintain pricing relationships with key suppliers.
  • Develop bid proposals and pricing summaries; ensure proposals are clear, accurate, and submitted on time.
  • Estimate fire alarm system work as part of integrated electrical bids when applicable.
  • Conduct site walks and pre-bid meetings as needed to validate scope, site conditions, and project complexity.
  • Prepare RFIs to clarify scope or specifications during the bid period.
  • Partner closely with the Project Manager on project handoff once a bid is awarded — review estimate assumptions, scope, schedule, and budget to ensure a smooth transition into execution.
  • Track bid history, win rates, and post-bid feedback to continuously improve estimating accuracy.
  • Maintain organized estimate files, supporting documentation, and version control on all bids.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, general contractors, owners, subcontractors, and vendors during the bid process.
  • Attend organizational and client meetings as needed.
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of estimating procedures, templates, and best practices.
  • Perform additional tasks as part of a collaborative team environment.
Required Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. (Required)
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams. (Required)
  • Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills. (Required)
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. (Required)
