About this position:
Construction Quality Control Manager Location – Hanover, MD

Bering Straits Global Innovations, LLC (BSGI) was developed to provide general construction services to a variety of commercial and government agencies and to take advantage of Bering Straits Native Corporation and its companies’ previous experience in commercial and institutional building construction, alarm system monitoring service, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and other related services.

Wage/Salary Range: $115K - $130

Quality Control
  • Ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, UFC requirements, and contract documents.
  • Review construction submittals for compliance with project specifications and drawings.
  • Schedule, prepare and lead three-phase quality control inspection meetings. This includes all necessary follow-up and documentation of attendance and notes from each meeting.
  • Review, update and maintain project submittal register.
  • Identify construction deficiencies, document and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Perform regular QC inspections of deliveries, ongoing work, mock-ups, etc.
  • Maintain accurate QC daily reports, project documentation, and field records.
  • Coordinate with project safety lead for documentation and reporting of exposure hours.
  • Lead the project team in submission of all project closeout requirements including warranties, O&M Manuals, equipment/property logs, etc.
  • Manage submittal procedures, coordinating directly with the internal project leads for each subcontractor/trade and the government representatives.
  • Certified Payroll reporting
  • Coordinate and oversee 3 rd
    -Party Testing and inspections, with project superintendent staff
  • Coordinate and lead project commissioning.
Field Leadership
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain project schedule and productivity.
  • Participate in regular site meetings and communicate project expectations to all trades and government representatives.
  • Maintain a professional and productive jobsite culture.
Project Execution
  • Monitor QC progress and proactively identify potential schedule impacts before they become problems.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents with subcontractors.
  • Support successful project turnover and closeout activities.
Safety Leadership
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across every project.
  • Ensure subcontractors’ project-specific safety plans comply with OSHA and USACE (EM385-1-1) requirements.
  • Continually monitor safety and immediately address unsafe conditions.
  • Lead by example through consistent safe work practices and accountability.
Client Relationships
  • Serve as a trusted field representative for BSNC.
  • Build positive working relationships with Owners, Contracting Officers, CORs, Quality Assurance personnel, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions professionally and proactively.
Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
  • Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Level of Experience Requirements: Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Construction Quality Control Manager on commercial or federal construction projects.
  • Required qualifications for hire:
    • Experience managing Quality Control on federal construction projects for agencies such as USACE, DoD, NAVFAC, GSA, or similar federal customers.
    • Valid USACE/NAVFAC QCM Certification.
    • Working knowledge of government systems: RMS, WebCM, Kahua, etc.
    • Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and construction trades.
