Berman Hebrew Academy is growing and excited to open additional Middle School Ivrit sections for the 2026–27 academic year.
Berman Hebrew Academy is a warm, inclusive Modern Orthodox, co-educational day school in Rockville, MD, serving students from Early Childhood through 12th Grade on one beautiful campus.

Position OverviewWe are seeking an engaging and skilled Hebrew educator who can inspire students across a range of proficiency levels. The ideal candidate values collaboration, professional growth, and student-centered instruction, and is passionate about developing students’ fluency, confidence, and love of Ivrit.
ResponsibilitiesMiddle School Ivrit teachers are expected to:
- Teach a full-time course load (five courses) or part-time load (three courses).
- Design and deliver engaging Ivrit instruction that supports language acquisition and cultural connection.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and varying proficiency levels.
- Provide timely grading and meaningful feedback to students and families.
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom culture that promotes growth in learning, middot, and responsibility.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain horizontal and vertical curriculum alignment.
- Participate actively in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal, including supervision duties such as lunch or recess.
New teachers are paired with a mentor/coach to support classroom management, instructional practice, and school procedures.
New faculty participate in monthly cohort meetings to support successful integration into the Berman community.
The school day runs from 8:15 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; teachers are expected to be on campus during their contracted hours.
QualificationsStrong Hebrew language proficiency (spoken and written).
Experience teaching Hebrew as a second language preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and collaboration.
Alignment with the mission and values of Berman Hebrew Academy.
CompensationSalary range: $50,000–$90,000, commensurate with experience and education.
