Lower School Judaic Studies and Hebrew Early Childhood Teacher

Salary Range $52,587.00 - $ Salary/year Position Type Full Time

Description

This position will require instruction in Judaic language arts and various other disciplines of Jewish learning and teaching and will require an individual who demonstrates a passion for education and a palpable love for and warmth with children while instructing students in the curricular areas of Torah, Hagim/Jewish Festivals, and T'filah/Prayer.

Candidates will possess the following skills in and dispositions toward education:

  • a progressive approach to education that includes expertise in differentiation of instruction for enriched, grade level, and supported students

  • skills to create a joyful, interactive, and engaging learning environment
  • comfort with pro-active parent collaboration
  • integrating technology into typical classroom teaching practice and experience with teaching through digital platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)
  • interest in partnering with colleagues within and across subject disciplines to plan and develop curriculum
  • a commitment to fostering an inclusive and communal learning environment
  • openness to professional reflection and feedback
  • strong written and verbal communication skills, preferably in native Hebrew, and comfort communicating orally and in writing in English
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education.
  • (or 90-hour MSDE course for Junior K candidates) or a related field required, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of successful, formal lead-teaching experience in a public or independent school.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States at the time of appointment.
