Assistant Teacher, Preschool

Berman Hebrew Academy Preschool is seeking an assistant teacher for the  school year. This position provides support across our Preschool program, working in different classrooms throughout the school as needed, to ensure continuity of care and instruction. Candidates should be creative and flexible, and enjoy nurturing young children, ages 2-5, in a variety of classroom settings. They value working collaboratively with colleagues and are interested in professional growth.

Primary responsibilities will include: supervision of the children inside and outside, in the playground and grounds of the school; care of the children’s social, emotional and physical needs; care of the physical environment; classroom management; support of the curriculum; compliance with Maryland state licensing regulations; attendance at staff meetings and required training sessions, scheduled during and outside of normal working hours.

Preferred qualifications and skills:

• 90 hour Early Childhood Certificate or Maryland Credentialing Level 3, or working toward one of them.
• Fluent, or nearly fluent, English language speaker
• Native Hebrew language speaker
• Previous experience in an early childhood setting

Salary range is $25,486-$35,082 (based on experience).
