Robotics Team Advisor
Description:
Rockville High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Robotics Team Advisor to mentor, inspire, and guide students through the world of competitive STEM. The Advisor will lead team practices, supervise robot design and programming, and oversee student participation in regional competitions while fostering a safe, collaborative, and innovative learning environment. This is a full school year position.
- Supervise and direct after-school team meetings, build sessions, and weekend competition events.
- Guide students through the engineering design process, mechanical assembly, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Handle team administrative duties, including event registration, travel logistics, equipment inventory, and team communications.
- Promote teamwork, problem-solving, gracious professionalism, and safety standard adherence.
- Strong background, interest, or experience in STEM, engineering, manufacturing, or computer programming (Connecticut teaching certification preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to manage high school students in a hands-on, project-based setting.
- Flexibility to attend after-school practices and scheduled weekend competitions.
Salary and Benefits:
This is a part-time, temporary position and is not eligible for benefits or insurance. Stipend amount: $2,382.00 (prorated). Paid 1/2 in December and 1/2 in June.
