This role is responsible for supporting the development of reactor licensing efforts and associated engagements with the U.S. NRC. It supports portions of licensing application development and interfaces between internal teams (licensing, engineering, program/project management, supply chain, and procurement) and the U.S. NRC. This includes topic areas such as environmental law, nuclear safety, nuclear security, emergency planning, safeguards, and financial considerations primarily applied to the X-energy reactor technology.

• Support portions of licensing activities (certifications, permits, approvals, and licenses associated with reactor technologies) and ensure milestones are met as agreed with the U.S. NRC.
• Provide licensing support to engineers in developing technical requirements that will ensure compliance with NRC regulations and guidance.
• Support scope development of the annual regulatory engagement plan, lead regulatory audits and responses to RAI’s (Requests for Additional Information).
• Develop licensing content to support portions of Safety Analysis Reports and licensing applications.
• Support planning and executing the X-energy licensing strategy.
• Develop regulatory white papers, technical reports, and licensing topical reports.
• Support development of licensing plans and associated budgets.
• Actively support the X-energy safety culture and ensure integration of quality in licensing processes as informed by the X-energy Quality Assurance Program.
• Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science (e.g. mechanical, nuclear, electrical, physics) or other related area.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with licensing activities related to cybersecurity for power reactors and/or small modular reactors.
• Knowledge of and application of 10 CFR Part 73 requirements.

Work Arrangement: 4 Days Onsite per Week

Hours:

8:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri

Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them.

Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions. A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is:

$125,700 - $209,500
