Battery Project Engineer

Teledyne Energy Systems, Inc., a leader in custom power systems and advanced battery technologies, is seeking a Battery Project Engineer with 5+ years of battery development experience to join our Sparks manufacturing facility.

• Lead the development of Li‑Ion cell and electrode designs to meet customer electrical requirements.
• Implement advanced battery materials such as high‑energy cathodes, silicon anodes, and wide‑temperature electrolytes.
• Design and execute electrochemical experiments (DOE) and prototype fabrication.
• Correlate electrochemical data with process parameters to optimize cell performance.
• Develop and maintain test procedures, conduct validation, and transition designs to manufacturing.
• Write product specifications, operation procedures, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to resolve performance and manufacturing issues.
• Lead technical projects and mentor team members.

• Ph.D., M.S., or B.S. in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in battery development and manufacturing.
• Strong background in electrochemical cell design, electrode coating, and pouch or cylindrical cell development.
• Experience with CAD solid modeling and engineering drawings preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Experience with materials characterization, packaging, tooling design, welding, process engineering, and data analysis.

$120,000 – $150,000 per year
