Senior R&D Engineer

Fire & Risk Alliance, LLC is seeking passionate engineers to join our R&D team, advancing critical research in fire testing, fire suppression, deflagration protection, gas detection, and battery energy storage safety. We’re looking for a Senior R&D Engineer with strong laboratory and experimental experience to support hands‑on testing, analysis, and applied research. • Lead the design, setup, and execution of small‑and large‑scale fire protection experiments
• Ensure data integrity, instrumentation accuracy, and repeatability
• Analyze results and translate findings into actionable insights
• Manage client communication, scheduling, resource planning, fieldwork, and supervision of junior staff
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project managers
• Improve testing methods, workflows, and research processes
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of continuous learning
• Communicate findings through reports, presentations, and technical discussions

• Strong laboratory testing and experimental design experience
• Proficiency with instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities

This is an in‑office role based in Rockville, MD. This role requires travel to regional testing facilities, conferences, client meetings, and field work.
