Fire & Risk Alliance, LLC is seeking motivated early‑career engineers to join our R&D team, supporting research in fire testing, fire suppression, deflagration protection, gas detection, and battery energy storage safety. We’re looking for an Entry‑Level R&D Engineer with an interest in laboratory testing, instrumentation, and applied research. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers, support experimental programs, and develop technical skills in fire protection science.
Role Description- Assist with setup and execution of fire protection experiments
- Support instrumentation, data collection, and documentation
- Help analyze results and prepare technical summaries
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project managers
- Contribute to improvements in testing methods and lab workflows
- Prepare draft reports and technical documentation
- Interest in laboratory testing and experimental methods
- Basic experience with instrumentation or data acquisition (coursework or internship acceptable)
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Curiosity, humility, and a team‑first mindset
This is an on‑site role in Rockville, MD. This role requires travel to regional testing facilities, conferences, client meetings, and field work.

Salary Range$70,000 to $100,000 per year
