As an Antenna Test Engineer Intern, you will assist our engineering team in characterizing and validating next-generation Phased Array Flat-Panel Antennas
. This role is designed for students or recent graduates who want to bridge the gap between academic EM theory and real-world satellite communication technology. You will work in a professional lab environment, supporting senior engineers with measurements in CATR (Compact Range) and NFS (Near-Field) environments.
- Measurement Support: Assist in setting up and executing RF measurements for Gain, Radiation Patterns, and G/T.
- Lab Operations: Help with DUT (Device Under Test) mounting, cable management, and basic equipment calibration (VNA/PNA).
- Data Organization: Support the team by organizing and performing basic processing of measurement data.
- Documentation: Assist in creating test reports and documenting test procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Lab Maintenance: Help maintain an organized lab environment and track RF components/accessories.
- Education: Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a B.S. or M.S. program in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetics, or a related field.
- Academic Foundation: Understanding of Electromagnetics and Antenna Theory (Gain, Polarization, S-parameters).
- Hands-on Interest: Strong desire to work in a lab environment and learn professional measurement methodologies.
- Familiarity with Python or MATLAB (e.g., ability to plot graphs or perform basic data manipulation from coursework).
- Exposure to EM simulation tools such as HFSS or CST
. - Experience with basic RF lab equipment (Oscilloscopes or Signal Generators) through university projects.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, "can-do" attitude.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Must be able to lift up to at least 25 pounds at times.
- Ability to traverse to multiple locations.
