Senior Traffic Analysis Engineer – Locations

We are seeking a Senior Traffic Analysis Engineer to join our Transportation Engineering team in Towson, MD;
Rockville, MD; or Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of traffic operations and modeling, the ability to develop creative and effective technical solutions, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Project Assignments
  • Traffic operations analysis
  • Traffic modeling and micro‑simulation
  • Capacity analysis
  • Safety investigations
  • Development of traffic impact studies, transportation planning studies, and feasibility studies
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct traffic operational analysis using various modeling tools
  • Provide analysis to support development of design solutions and operational improvements
  • Conduct crash data analysis and perform safety studies for intersections and corridors
  • Prepare summary tables, sketches, and exhibits to communicate technical findings
  • Write technical reports and technical memoranda
  • Tabulate, process, and prepare deliverables related to traffic data collection tasks
  • Perform on‑site field investigations when required
  • Communicate and collaborate in a team environment
  • Work independently and provide oversight of junior staff work
Qualifications
  • BS in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or related field with 6–12 years of experience in traffic engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) required;
    Professional Engineer (PE) or permanent Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) is a plus
  • Understanding of traffic analysis concepts and experience with traffic model development
  • Proficiency with Synchro, Sim Traffic, Warrants, SIDRA, HCS
  • Working knowledge of roadway design principles and familiarity with MUTCD, ITE, FHWA, and AASHTO manuals and procedures
  • Experience with Micro Station and/or AutoCAD is a plus
  • Strong communication, technical writing, and organizational skills; positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
