Senior Ocean Engineer

Amentum seeks a Senior Ocean Engineer to support all phases of the Magnetic Silencing Facility (MSF) and UEM System of Interest (SOI) lifecycle, including conceptual design, detailed design, hardware implementation, as‑built drawings, site implementation modifications, procurement, integration and testing, test data, reports, and retirement. The candidate will provide technical support across mechanical, electrical, and electromagnetic (EM) systems engineering and assist with system lifecycle decision gates such as SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, and TRR for projects under Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) Code 75 or associated organizations.

Provide comprehensive support for all MSF and SOI lifecycle phases, including design, implementation, testing, and retirement activities. Offer expertise in mechanical, electrical, and EM systems, and contribute to milestone reviews (SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, TRR) to ensure project success.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Ocean Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of collective technical and management experience with U.S. Navy technical programs/projects, marine and ocean engineering, or projects of similar scope.
• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship to obtain or maintain the clearance.

• 10+ years of engineering design support for U.S. Navy underwater electromagnetic (UEM) measurement or equivalent system installations, upgrades, and repairs.
• Experience in quality control reviews, design and component options for UEM systems, advanced development of emergent UEM sensor systems, and design of UEM array sensors, power and data acquisition cables.
• Ability to recommend designs for new, modified, or existing calibrated source units to validate UEM systems.

$124,000 – $136,000 (salary range).
