Overview
The Security Engineering and Zero Trust Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security infrastructure with a focus on Zero Trust principles. The role leads modernization projects for network and system security, manages identity and access controls, evaluates and integrates new security technologies, and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to ensure secure development and operation of applications and services. The Lead also mentors engineering teams on secure coding and architectural best practices.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure focused on Zero Trust principles.
- Lead projects to modernize network and system security, including identity and access management (IAM).
- Evaluate and integrate new security technologies to support Zero Trust architecture.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure secure development, deployment, and operation of applications and services.
- Monitor and tune security controls for effectiveness and compliance.
- Mentor engineering teams on secure coding and architecture best practices.
- Must be able to obtain a Federal Government Public Trust clearance.
- Certification in CISSP, CCSP, or cloud security credentials (Azure/AWS).
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in security engineering with significant exposure to Zero Trust implementations.
- In‑depth knowledge of network security, IAM, and cloud security frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline;
Master’s preferred. - Minimum 8 years’ experience in security engineering with significant exposure to Zero Trust implementations.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or Azure/AWS security credentials.
The position requires regular sitting, use of hands for handling tools and controls, speaking and hearing, and occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposure to general office noise including computers, printers, and light traffic is expected.
Compensationand Benefits
The estimated pay range for this role is $130,000 to $150,000, contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
