Job Description
Estimating Lead – Projects Control Team
Responsibilities- Serves as a subject matter expert for the team in at least one construction division (CSI).
- Owns and leads groups within the department.
- Prepares services, contractor indirect, and/or capital cost estimates in specialized discipline areas using current techniques and market pricing.
- Prepares cost/schedule products for proposals or contract negotiations.
- Performs price or cost analysis for reasonableness of subcontractor quotes or change requests under management guidance.
- Provides input on level‑of‑effort (cost/job hours) by coordinating with functions and/or vendors and consolidates input for costing.
- Performs quantity takeoffs from design drawings for multi‑discipline sections and customizes forms to reflect best effort.
- Prepares detailed pricing for field manual labor, field subcontractors, and other direct costs.
- Prepares basis and assumption documentation denoting rationale, inclusions, and exclusions.
- Conducts subcontractor bid analysis and compares to market rates.
- Develops unit staffing, job hour, and pricing data for a specific discipline or specialty, including estimating parameters, factors, indices, and craft distribution reference data.
- Prepares reports and estimate summaries for estimate reviews; participates in estimate reviews and presentations.
- Researches, develops, and maintains costs, quantities, ratios, and metrics of the historical cost databases; extracts non‑standard data and formulates comparative summary format for analysis; inputs cost data into the historical cost databases; files completed estimates with backup documentation ensuring appropriate versioning and configuration control.
- Generates estimates with appropriate global business unit software.
- Converts work breakdown structure used in the estimate to project job and sub‑job codes and commodity‑coding system used in the estimate to a system for a project.
- Maintains professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, finance, or a related field (required).
- Typically seven plus years of estimating experience, or at least two years of experience with the project engineering/management, design, operation, or maintenance of power generation or industrial processes facilities in the nuclear industry.
- Formal training, certification, or work experience in project management or applicable experience may be substituted (e.g., PMI‑PMP, AACE certification, MBA, ASPE certification, CCEA certification, or MS Engineering Management).
- Broad knowledge of construction, project management, and engineering.
- Advanced software skills relative to the estimating function.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in at least one construction division (CSI).
- Experience in developing and maintaining relationships while working in a matrixed organization or applicable experience may be substituted.
- Understanding of formal project management methodologies.

Travel ExpectationsUp to 10% as needed.
Hours8:00 am‑5:00 pm, Mon‑Fri.
CompensationSalary range (expected): $96,600 – $161,000 (based on experience and qualifications).
Position ClassificationFull time – Exempt.
