The Product Manager, In-Life Management is responsible for the operational ownership, performance, and continuous improvement of the company’s Flat Panel Antenna (FPA)-based User Terminal (UT) products in production and deployed in the field. The role ensures that products continue to meet performance, reliability, regulatory, and customer expectations throughout their lifecycle, acting as the central point of coordination between field performance, engineering, operations, and product strategy.
MainResponsibilities In-Life Product Ownership (FPA UT Products)
- Owns the performance and evolution of FPA-based UT products in production and in-service
- Monitors product health across reliability, performance, quality, and customer experience metrics
- Drives prioritization of in-life improvements, fixes, and enhancements
- Acts as the focal point for field issues, customer feedback, and operational insights
- Works with support, quality, and engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of issues
- Ensures proper root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Identifies recurring issues and drives systemic improvements
- Owns product changes during in-life phase, including engineering changes, updates, and configuration control
- Ensures changes are assessed for impact on performance, cost, certification, and customer operations
- Maintains alignment with product baselines and configuration management processes
- Supports the establishment and operation of the Product Review Board / Engineering Review Board for in-life product management
- Coordinates inputs and actions arising from Board reviews, including:
- Product changes and enhancements
- Software/firmware release plans
- Issue resolution and corrective actions
- Lifecycle and configuration decisions
- Ensures proposals, impact assessments, priorities, and follow-up actions are clearly documented, communicated, and tracked
- Aligns cross-functional stakeholders on execution of agreed actions
- Works closely with Engineering, TPM, manufacturing, quality, technical support, compliance, and commercial teams across Intellian’s global organization
- Ensures alignment between in-life priorities and ongoing development programs
- Supports production and supply chain in addressing product-related issues and constraints
- Interfaces with customers on product performance, issues, and enhancements
- Supports communication of product updates, fixes, and lifecycle changes
- Contributes to maintaining customer confidence and service continuity
- Manages product lifecycle transitions including updates, sustainment, and end-of-life planning
- Identifies and mitigates component obsolescence and supply chain risks
- Supports long-term product sustainability and cost optimization
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in product management, system engineering, or program management within satellite communications or telecom systems
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle beyond launch (in-life phase)
- Experience dealing with field issues, reliability, and customer support environments
- Ability to work effectively across technical and operational teams
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and coordination skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Familiarity with FPA systems, RF architectures, and satellite network operations
- Experience with software/firmware release processes and field deployments
- Experience using issue tracking, release management, and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Salesforce)
- Exposure to quality systems, certification constraints, and regulatory environments
- Experience in the use of collaboration and tracking tools, e.g. JIRA, Sales Force, Confluence, etc.
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 lbs (e.g., equipment, prototypes, documents).
