SR Controls Technician

REPORTS TO:

ATC Supervisor, ATC Manager, Director of Special Projects

The ATC/WTS Sr. Tech shall be a mid-level position to support ATC sales, engineering, and field implementation of projects. The position shall be responsible for the Technical oversight and support of field projects assigned by the ATC Supervisor/Project Manager/Project Engineer. This includes performing a point-to-point checkout per company procedures, completing project commissioning documentation, downloading application software, and performing software/hardware calibration required for proper equipment and system operation.

This position also includes maintaining on-going project as-built documentation, archival of project user files and performing warranty related service calls. Additionally, the ATC/WTS Sr. Tech will work closely with our installation subcontractors and coordinate work with them to ensure projects are completed on time and per code, standards, and contract requirements. In addition, The ATC/WTS Sr. Tech will provide support to the Project Management, Service, & Special Projects departments for advanced technical issues as they arise on various projects.

This will include an array of items related to the HVAC, Plumbing, and Controls fields. The ATC/WTS Sr. Technician will report to the ATC Supervisor to review each support/warranty item and provide support documentation to the appropriate team as necessary to bring the issues to resolution.

• A minimum of 5 years of field experience in controls.
• Able to work Monday-Friday with occasional overtime during afternoons, evenings and weekends as needed. Hours may involve start times as early as 5:00 a.m.

• Must be able obtain a minimum security clearance and pass a background investigation.
• Insurable MVR required; able to drive company van or truck and maintain vehicle in accordance with company policies.
• The ability to work independently and interface directly with customers.
• Will provide and maintain personal tools to meet the needs of the position, to include basic screw drivers, pliers, adjustable wrenches, and digital millimeters (VAC, VDC, A, mA, R), etc.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills, including ability to resolve conflict professionally with the assistance of management.
• Communicate effectively in English (aural, verbal, and written).
• Skills with Microsoft Office products, including – but not limited to – Outlook, Excel, Word and Visio.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills in controls applications, controls engineering, and programming.
• Working/developing knowledge of HVACR systems, gas distribution systems, and commercial refrigeration.
• Working/developing knowledge of design for mechanical, electrical, controls systems for commercial, institutional facilities.
• Working/developing knowledge of building and energy codes as well as energy and commissioning standards.
• Must be able to walk, stand, bend, climb, crawl, stoop; able to be exposed to heights as well as tight/confined spaces; work in dusty areas; work in temperature extremes; be exposed to external elements (wind, rain, snow, etc.) Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.

• ATC Engineering:
  Assist in creating ATC submittals to comply with contract documents for projects.
• Assist in performing site surveys for estimates and engineering.
• To work as a field liaison to provide technical aspects of the project for installation to our PM, field, and subcontractors
• Coordination for equipment locations and interconnecting communication bus.
• Technical overview of installation to ensure that submittal and contract documents are being met.
