This position requires a professional who can effectively bridge both the finance and accounting functions, navigating the complexities of partnership structures, tax allocations, and multi-entity reporting while providing strategic guidance to the organization.

Given the collaborative nature of the role and regular interaction with leadership, this position is based full-time in the company's Rockville, MD office or the Virginia Beach, VA office.

  • Assist in cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, capital planning, and cash distribution planning across multiple entities
  • Coordinate closely with accounting and external tax advisors to support partnership tax allocations, K‑1 reporting, entity‑level tax considerations, and overall tax planning initiatives
  • Support the preparation and review of financial information used in audits, tax filings, lender reporting, and ownership reporting
  • Ensure financial strategies appropriately reflect the complexities of a tax‑intensive, multi‑entity ownership structure
  • Establish and enhance reporting frameworks, dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting tools to improve visibility into business performance
  • Translate complex financial, accounting, and tax information into practical business insights for non-financial stakeholders
  • Serve as a strategic resource to ownership by evaluating financial risks, opportunities, and operational initiatives
  • Participate in periodic travel to the Virginia Beach area to support operations and stakeholders
Qualifications
  • CPA required
  • 8–12+ years of progressive finance, accounting, or related experience, including leadership responsibility in FP&A, financial reporting, or corporate finance
  • Experience working in complex, multi‑entity or family office environments preferred
  • Strong understanding of tax‑driven structures and audit requirements
  • Proven ability to translate financial data into strategic insights and recommendations
  • Experience working within highly audited environments and coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors. Experience partnering cross‑functionally, particularly with Accounting teams
  • Hands‑on experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present to non‑finance stakeholders
  • Operates with a high level of ownership and accountability
