AVP Portfolio Valuation

LHH is partnering with a global private equity firm to identify an Assistant Vice President of Portfolio Valuation. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the firm's approach to valuing investments across its portfolio, working in close coordination with investment professionals, finance teams, and senior leadership. The role requires a strong command of financial analysis, the ability to interpret complex datasets, and the judgment to present well-supported conclusions to key stakeholders.

• Direct the end-to-end valuation cycle across a range of investment positions, ensuring consistency with internal standards and external reporting requirements
• Construct and maintain detailed valuation models used to determine fair value for non-liquid and structured investments
• Interface with deal teams and portfolio company leadership to collect relevant financial and operational inputs
• Oversee recurring valuation deliverables tied to quarterly and annual processes
• Serve as a primary point of contact for auditors and external valuation firms, addressing inquiries and resolving technical matters
• Strengthen valuation policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to support a robust control environment
• Assess underlying portfolio performance and highlight factors influencing valuation outcomes, communicating key findings to leadershi
• Produce clear and effective reporting materials, including analysis utilized in decision-making and investor communication
• Drive alignment among internal stakeholders regarding valuation assumptions and conclusions
• Stay informed on macroeconomic and market developments that may impact asset valuations
• Contribute to broader firm initiatives, including investor communications and internal projects

• 8+ years of experience in valuation, transactions, advisory, or an investment-focused environment
• Experience evaluating complex capital structures and pricing non-public investment positions
• Advanced modeling skills with the ability to build and interpret detailed financial analyses
• Familiarity with private equity frameworks, including fund-level considerations and valuation oversight
• Ability to distill complex information into clear recommendations for senior audiences
• Strong relationship management skills with a track record of working across cross-functional teams
• Experience engaging with audit firms and external advisors on valuation matters
• High level of professionalism, with the ability to navigate competing priorities and tight timelines
• Strong technical proficiency with Excel and related analytical too
