Physician Assistant

Overview

Mobile Medical Care, Inc. (Mobile Med), a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Montgomery County, Maryland and serving low-income adults, is looking for a full-time (40 hours per week) Physician Assistant working (8:30 am – 5:00 pm, M-F) in our clinics serving Montgomery County, Maryland.

Mobile Med’s practice environment is collaborative and patient-centered. The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive, evidence-based primary care, within our defined scope of practice. Responsibilities include review of diagnostic testing results and timely documentation of all patient encounters and follow-up.

• Eliciting a pertinent medical history
• Examining patients and reviewing their medical records
• Ordering appropriate diagnostic tests (blood tests, radiographs, etc.)
• Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic medical conditions
• Prescribing appropriate medications
• Providing preventive care in accordance with established guidelines
• Referring patients to specialty services as needed
• Maintaining accurate records
• Educating patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
• Educating patients and their family members about preventive measures and good health practices
• Referring patients to the behavioral health team for care as needed
• Advancing professional knowledge through continuing medical education

• Physician Assistant certification from an accredited program
• Licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Maryland
• Current CPR certification; has or is eligible for DEA and Maryland controlled substance license
• Board certification is required
• Proficiency documenting in an electronic health record system
• Interest in working with a diverse, underserved population
• Bilingual in Spanish or French is a plus
• Knowledge of health care guidelines and regulations
• Strong ethics
• Team spirit with a positive attitude
• Interest in continuing to gain knowledge and clinical experience
• Experience in telehealth is a plus
