Position

Purpose:

Responsible for providing for the professional coordination and accountability of services to the residents, aged 16 - 24, in the semi‑supervised apartment living setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides supervision, training, and problem solving to the Independent Living and Transitional Housing Program Team. Provides oversight of apartment living and life skill development for each resident on an individualized basis.
  • Ensures the overall implementation of a structured independent living program that addresses the full range of needs of its residents that includes educational, vocational, psychological and psychiatric needs as well as daily life skills development.
  • Oversees proper physical maintenance of the apartments and reports appropriate needs to the rental office, and intervenes with consultation from the Division Manager of Adolescent Services, in landlord‑tenant conflicts.
  • Ensures effective program development, refinement, and timely participation in NCCFs evaluation processes (i.e., ETO, CHESSIE) and responds directly to all requests for corrective action by the state licensing monitor and all internal auditors.
  • Ensures consumer satisfaction with the timely, appropriate, and quality delivery of services, as demonstrated through measurable outcomes and feedback.
  • Identifies participants for Heart and Soul Catering and Vernon Davis Youth Leadership & Arts Academy.
  • Collaborate with NCCF program directors to share resources related to working with clients.
  • Maintains program compliance with the applicable local, state, and federal rules, guidelines, codes, laws and Maryland contract.
  • Ensures appropriate program implementation including placement, discharge, and aftercare.
  • Coordinates intake and admissions process for the FILP & FTHP Programs. Conducts initial assessments of resident candidates for admission and makes placement recommendations. Notifies referring agencies of placement decisions in a timely fashion.
  • Maintains linkages with community systems, particularly those referring clients, to encourage cooperation communication and funding.
  • Work with Division Manager of Adolescent Services and FILP team to develop partnerships for educational/vocational training and workforce preparation.
  • Encourages and enhances collaborative teamwork among staff, consultants, client systems and support staff.
  • Contributes to Agency resource development efforts, as appropriate.
  • Assists the Division Manager with program budget decision making and managing program specific funds.
  • Finalizes and approves all scheduling patterns to ensure adequate staff‑to‑resident ratios.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Represents the NCCF in external policy and program arenas, as approved.
  • Presents and publishes professionally on topics related to specialty service.
  • Advocates for vulnerable youth and their families in local, state and national forums.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, independent license in Maryland required.
  • Three years’ experience working with adolescents or other closely related field with one year in a supervisory capacity. Previous experience should include work in some of the following areas: individual and group counseling, case management, residential care, independent living, and/or child victimization.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and provide leadership to diverse team.
  • Commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and the Agency’s mission to progressively serve vulnerable families and youth.
  • Demonstrates cross cultural competencies and sensitivity to diverse adolescent, family and community issues.
  • Good oral and written communications skills and customer service approach to training.
  • Must possess an attitude compatible with the goals and purposes of NCCF.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job require close vision working with a computer monitor.

While performing the duties of this job, employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. While performing the responsibilities of the employee’s job, these work environment characteristics are representative of the environment the employee will encounter. Salary:

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000
