Individual Capabilities/Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or other related discipline plus at least 20 years of systems engineering experience. A Master’s degree or PhD may be substituted for two years of experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 24 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
- Excellent knowledge of Customer threads and Smart Data strategic goals
- Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- Previous experience working with policy and compliance is highly desired
- Passion for solving problems, developing creative solutions, and root cause analysis
- Self-directing
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Current SEs in this role enjoy the work and are successful at this task, but this task is not for everyone. Candidates should be self-starters, curious, and tenacious; otherwise, they will not enjoy this assignment.

Peraton is hiring a Smart Data Systems Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD. As a Systems Engineer on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location.
As a Smart Data Systems Engineer, you will provide systems engineering expertise for a customer Smart Data team to identify, document, and investigate all data integrity and quality control facets of Smart Data tags in the Cloud. Accurate data tagging in the Cloud is needed to enable verification of compliance with internal and external oversight authorities and policies.
A candidate for this position must be interested in investigatingmeta data, security marking, and data flow anomalies. It requires a thorough understanding of customer data flows and a passion for investigating root causes of anomalies.
Duties include:
- Execute creative strategies to discover data quality problems
- Navigate across organizations to bring people and ideas together to develop creative solutions for data integrity
- Troubleshoot and investigate processes and threads for data integrity (root cause analysis)
- Ensuring policy and compliance (I.e. purge concerns and requirements)
- Maintain a focus on data management processes for accuracy, completeness, and correctness
- Maintain Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs)
- Schedule and facilitate meetings, scribe meeting minutes, track outcomes and actions) #MDFSP #AJCM
