The Deputy Program Manager / Transition Lead supports the Program Manager in day-to-day execution of the program and leads transition planning and implementation activities. This role focuses on operational integration, staffing readiness, process onboarding, knowledge transfer, stakeholder coordination, and continuity of service during transition and steady-state performance.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Program Manager in execution of all program management and contract performance activities.
- Lead development and execution of transition-in and transition-out plans, schedules, and checklists.
- Coordinate staffing onboarding, role alignment, knowledge transfer, access provisioning, and operational readiness activities.
- Track transition risks, dependencies, action items, and milestones to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Support governance meetings, customer communications, and program reporting.
- Coordinate across technical leads to integrate transition activities with operations, compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain status dashboards, issue logs, staffing trackers, and action registers.
- Assist with subcontractor coordination and workforce continuity planning.
- Support process standardization and documentation updates during transition and steady-state operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, engineering, business, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant federal program or project management experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading transition, implementation, or service mobilization efforts.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity or IT operations programs in a federal environment.
- Strong organizational, scheduling, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent work streams and deadlines.
- PMP or CAPM
- ITIL Foundation
- CISSP, CISM, or Security+
- Ability to obtain and maintain required federal suitability/public trust clearance.
- Ability to work independently and support both management and technical teams.
