Cloud and Storage Engineer – Full‑time, Experienced – Department:
Information technology

CGS is seeking a Cloud and Storage Engineer to develop and implement full‑scale Storage Area Network (SAN) architecture for a large EMC‑based SAN infrastructure supporting a federal agency. The role covers storage configuration, optimization, replication, and security, requiring performance‑centric, multi‑platform solutions.

• Develop and implement SAN architecture for large EMC‑based SAN infrastructure across geographically dispersed sites.
• Plan and design performance, capacity, replication, disaster recovery, backup, and storage‑as‑a‑service roadmaps.
• Define strategic direction for SAN and backup environments.
• Design and implement customer storage requirements into enterprise solutions.
• Provide overall storage and backup capacity planning, utilization reporting.
• Produce standards and implementation processes for storage configuration, optimization, replication, virtualization, security, and disaster recovery.
• Troubleshoot complex SAN infrastructure issues and collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve them.
• Plan and participate in scheduled maintenance and projects on the storage infrastructure.
• Document technical designs, roadmaps, presentations, and cost models.
• Maintain SAN infrastructure as part of a 24/7/365 uptime team.
• Architect and maintain private cloud environment with experience in Gov Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.) and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Perform security‑related tasks including documentation, vulnerability scan review, patch management, and auditing.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or related field.
• Eight (8) years of relevant work experience may substitute for the degree.
• Significant, direct experience with Dell EMC products such as OneFS, One File System, MDS SAN switches, Unity, Isilon, VNS, Data Domain, and Recover Point.
