Principal Cloud Developer

The Principal Cloud Engineer leads the AWS Cloud Engineering and Dev Ops teams and partners closely with company stakeholders, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Systems, Software Engineering in a highly visible role.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow the Cloud Engineering and Dev Ops organizations by defining technical strategy, establishing engineering best practices and operational standards, managing performance and career development, and recruiting, hiring, and onboarding top engineering talent.
• Design, implement, and manage enterprise AWS cloud environments spanning multiple accounts using AWS Organizations, Control Tower, and landing zone architectures, ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and disaster recovery.
• Maintain a hands‑on technical leadership role by developing and reviewing production‑grade Terraform code, building CI/CD pipelines, troubleshooting production issues, optimizing infrastructure and database performance, and contributing maintainable code that supports long‑term business objectives.
• Manage and enhance cloud compute and container platforms, including Amazon ECS, EKS/Kubernetes, EC2, Lambda, and other serverless technologies, while maintaining the supporting cluster management, ingress, observability, and security infrastructure.
• Produce documentation to aid in the understanding of existing architecture solutions

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience leading cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or Dev Ops initiatives within enterprise environments.
• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure across core services, including EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, VPC, IAM, KMS, Cloud Front, API Gateway, Route 53, Cloud Watch, and Cloud Trail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related
