e-Discovery ALS Lab Manager – Job Description Position Overview Primary Responsibilities
The e-Discovery ALS Lab Manager is a key, high-level position responsible for overseeing and processing data in LAW and loading it to Relativity, providing electronic discovery technical support, and assisting with strategic and legal aspects for all assigned projects and matters with a strong focus on Relativity.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and processing data in LAW and loading to Relativity.
- Training staff on running load-ready and searchable PDF / native file productions.
- Training staff on performing analytics.
- Generating load-ready and native file productions.
- Consulting with Systems Manager, Project Managers, and DOJ Managers regarding ESI specifications.
- Performing advanced analytics in Relativity.
- Creating, troubleshooting, and repairing Active Learning Projects in Relativity.
- Prioritizing tasks and resolving technical issues for data processors.
- Creating statistical reports providing information on collection, filtering, processing, review, and productions.
- Staying abreast of emerging electronic discovery litigation support technology and processes.
- Maintaining current knowledge of available software applications and in area(s) of expertise.
- Contributing to regular briefings on new technology and process improvements with regard to electronic discovery.
- Participating in legal proceedings, i.e., 26(f) conferences.
- Undergraduate degree required and 5+ years of prior relevant experience (Minimum 5 years of experience providing eDiscovery services and litigation support on complex and large cases involving complex eDiscovery challenges).
- Thorough knowledge of the litigation discovery process and the EDRM workflow.
- Advanced knowledge of Relativity (front end and back end).
- Demonstrated ability to generate complex Power Shell scripts.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Active Learning.
- Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Detailed planning and organizational skills with a thorough understanding of processes at each stage of the eDiscovery lifecycle. - Solid, broad knowledge of Information Technology infrastructures including networks and other sources of data.
- Prior knowledge and experience managing eDiscovery projects and related technologies.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining proper priorities and scheduling on extremely tight deadlines.
- Law degree, technical certification, or other pertinent graduate degree strongly preferred.
- May require extended hours on short notice depending on Production deadlines.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust.
- Certification in an eDiscovery program strongly preferred.
