Our client seeks a Senior Business Systems Analyst to analyze and enhance automated surveillance systems that detect potential regulatory rule violations across multiple asset classes and regulatory domains. You will translate regulatory requirements into technical surveillance logic, validate and iterate on prototypes, and manage production implementations. You will communicate technical concepts in clear terms for nontechnical stakeholders, investigate data discrepancies, and document business-facing knowledge and BRDs.

Rate: $65.00 to $75.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:- Analyze automated surveillance systems and patterns to detect potential violations of regulatory rules.
- Translate regulatory requirements into technical surveillance logic and clear documentation.
- Prototype solutions to address complex business problems and manage production implementation.
- Validate, enhance, and support surveillance patterns across multiple asset classes and regulatory domains.
- Investigate data discrepancies and validate system outputs for accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate highly technical concepts in clear terms for nontechnical stakeholders.
- Create and maintain business-facing knowledge documents and BRDs.
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience or advanced degree with 2+ years of experience.
- Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in SQL for large-scale data analysis on distributed platforms.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language such as Python for data analysis, automation, and tool development.
- Experience leveraging ML algorithms to mine large datasets and solve business problems.
- Ability to read and interpret complex data processing pipelines and business logic in source code.
- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet tools for business and operational analysis.
- Excellent documentation skills for translating technical implementations into business-facing documents and BRDs.
- Experience visualizing data to present findings.
- Proficient communication skills.
- Preferred:
Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred. - Preferred:
Knowledge of SEC/FINRA regulatory rules and reporting requirements or strong interest in U.S. market structure and regulatory landscape. - Preferred:
Experience with generative AI tools and validation of AI-generated output. - Preferred:
Experience with distributed query engines and big data platforms. - Preferred:
Experience with source code management and release branch workflows.
