This position owns the day-to-day operation, security, performance, compliance, and continuous improvement of a mission-critical Traffic Safety as a Service (TSaaS) platform running in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The emphasis is on operational excellence, Oracle cloud engineering, database administration, automation, customer support, and dependable managed services rather than formal Site Reliability Engineering responsibilities.
What You'll Own- OCI production platform operations and lifecycle management.
- Oracle Autonomous Database administration, tuning, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
- OCI networking, compute, storage, IAM, Vault, WAF, DNS, certificates, monitoring, logging, and load balancing.
- Production changes alongside Dev Ops and Development.
- Runbooks, operational documentation, DR plans, and platform standards.
- Customer implementations, audits, production cutovers, and major operational events.
- Operate highly available OCI environments meeting contractual SLAs.
- Design and improve OCI infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Automate provisioning, maintenance, reporting, backups, patching, and operational workflows.
- Administer Oracle databases including Data Guard, RMAN, performance tuning, and recovery testing.
- Support CJIS, Nlets, and SOC 2 aligned operational controls and audit readiness.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and operational improvements.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Research & Development, Dev Ops, and Operations.
- Continuously simplify operations and reduce manual effort through automation.

- Python, Power Shell, Bash, Git, OCI CLI
- CJIS-aligned managed services supporting public safety agencies
- Minimum 5 years in DBA/cloud roles operating Oracle databases in production; strong SQL and performance tuning expertise.
- Hands-on with OCI core services, Autonomous DB, Data Guard, RMAN, and Golden Gate; proficiency with Terraform, Linux, Git, and scripting (Python/Bash/Power Shell).
- Demonstrated experience implementing HA/DR, backup/restore, and security controls for regulated/PII data.
- Clear documentation and stakeholder communication; comfortable leading incident response and postmortems.
- Willing to work in all weather conditions.
- Willing to travel within the local region.
- Oracle certifications (OCI Architect/Operations, Autonomous DB, Golden Gate) and Exadata experience.
- Kubernetes/OKE, Redis, Times Ten, or lakehouse patterns (Object Storage + Spark/Trino).
