Job Title: Project Manager – PMO (Utilities/Construction Focus) - 643859
Location: Rockville, MD (onsite, local candidates only)
Pay Range: $85,000 – $130,000 annually (DOE)
Work Hours: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
Type of Employment: Permanent Hire
This opportunity is ideal for a Project Manager with 3–5 years of project management experience, preferably in a PMO setting for gas or electric utility projects. The role involves planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and budgets, while working directly with the client.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute utility projects from initiation to completion, managing scope, schedules, and resources
- Implement standardized PMO processes, tools, and templates for consistent project delivery
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and monitor issues for timely resolution
- Allocate resources effectively in collaboration with the PMO to meet project requirements
- Serve as the primary contact for stakeholders, providing updates and facilitating clear communication
- Track project progress, milestones, and deliverables; prepare detailed reports for PMO and senior management
- Ensure project quality and compliance with established standards and requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for project management processes and methodologies
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 3–5 years of project management experience, preferably within a PMO
- Project management experience for gas or electric utility projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP or similar project management certification
- Familiarity with project governance frameworks and best practices
- Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder and team interactions
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
Candidate Notes:
- Must be local or within commuting distance to Rockville, MD
- PM experience with either gas or electric utility projects is acceptable
- Role is onsite with the client and not remote
