We are hiring for one of our prime clients seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician I to support aggregate material testing and quality assurance initiatives.
ShortRole Overview
The Quality Control Technician I is responsible for performing laboratory and field testing in accordance with established local and national standards. This role supports quality initiatives through data analysis, troubleshooting, equipment calibration, and collaboration with plant teams to ensure consistent material performance and customer satisfaction.
Key QualificationsEducation:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years of post-secondary technical education or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in materials testing or quality control
- Knowledge of ASTM and AASHTO testing standards
- Experience conducting laboratory and field sampling
- Strong analytical skills with ability to perform data and trend analysis
- Ability to troubleshoot material performance issues
- Experience maintaining testing databases and documentation
- Ability to perform maintenance, service, and calibration of laboratory and field equipment
- Familiarity with cement, asphalt, or aggregate plant operations
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs over uneven ground
- Reliable attendance and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and proper use of required PPE
Physical Requirements
- Combination of laboratory and field environments
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Regular lifting, carrying, and material sampling activities
- Operation and calibration of testing equipment
- Adherence to safety standards and required protective equipment
- Ability to complete required physical screening and compliance processes
