About National Park Trust

We believe our public parks, lands, and waters should be cared for, enjoyed by, and preserved by all for current and future generations.
We accomplish this goal through our mission to preserve parks today and to create park stewards for tomorrow.

National Park Trust protects public lands early and expands access, so the next generation grows up connected to America’s parks. By safeguarding places before they are threatened and opening the door to meaningful park experiences, we turn access into lifelong care.

As National Park Trust enters its next phase of growth and fundraising, we’re investing in clearer storytelling, sharper messaging, and more confident communication — ensuring our impact is understood, felt, and supported by donors, partners, and communities nationwide.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to help shape how our organization tells its story — and to translate that story into increased awareness, engagement, and support from donors and partners.

This is a hands‑on, manager‑level role for a strong writer and storyteller who can take strategic direction, bring it to life across channels, and contribute original ideas and creative energy. You’ll work closely with leadership to apply a clear messaging framework and build on the Park Trust’s existing momentum, helping evolve how the brand shows up as the organization grows.

In this role, you’ll take day‑to‑day ownership of core communications channels (including social, email, web, and press), in close collaboration with leadership, ensuring the Trust’s impact is communicated clearly, consistently, and in ways that inspire people to get involved. You will play an important part in supporting fundraising and partner engagement through clear, compelling communications.

This role offers the chance to work creatively across channels — from social media and email to events and campaigns — and is ideal for someone energized by storytelling, passionate about parks, and motivated by building long‑term care for the land.

This is an exciting opportunity for a mid‑level communications professional to step into greater responsibility, sharpen their storytelling skills, and help grow a mission‑driven brand at a pivotal moment.

Detailed Position Description Messaging & Storytelling

  • Translate programs, land protection wins, and youth engagement into donor‑ and partner‑ready stories
  • Support donor cultivation and stewardship by tailoring stories for fundraising campaigns, partner communications, and stewardship touchpoints
Content & Campaign Execution
  • Lead editorial planning across social media, email, and online articles/content
  • Write and edit high‑quality copy, including press releases, articles, email campaigns, donor communications, monthly newsletters, and campaign content
