Pediatric Urgent Care Physician

Overview

PM Pediatric Care, the largest pediatric urgent care network in the country, offers a supportive work environment with comprehensive learning programs for pediatric advanced practice providers. The organization is led by pediatric emergency physicians and focuses on evidence‑based medicine, delivering a high‑acuity, convenient alternative to the emergency department for children and young adults. The schedule is flexible, with no overnight shifts, and positions are available ranging from 12 to 36 hours per week (part‑time or full‑time).

• Assess and treat acute injury and illness for in‑person and telemedicine patients, including the management of febrile infants, ear/nose/throat infections, abdominal pain, anaphylaxis, procedural anxiolysis, respiratory distress, croup, and asthma.
• Perform procedural care such as abscess drainage, foreign body removal, and laceration repair with sutures, staples, or dermal adhesive.
• Take radiographs and provide preliminary interpretation of x‑rays with official radiology over‑reads where applicable.
• Oversee in‑person and telemedicine patient flow, daily office functions, and staff/trainee operations on shift.
• Maintain operations by following policies and procedures, and report needed changes to management.
• Work with onsite and telemedicine teams to complete daily tasks, including lab and radiology result review, patient follow‑up, and timely responses to calls and questions.
• Maintain a safe, secure, equitable, and healthy work environment through safety procedures, quality standards, and legal compliance.
• Protect patient privacy by keeping care information confidential in compliance with HIPAA.
• Update knowledge and skills through internal training, continuing education, professional publications, and participation in organizations.
• Assist the clinical team and patients with complaints, taking an active role in service recovery when needed.
• Focus on efficiency metrics to improve urgent care flow, antibiotic stewardship, and patient experience.

• Critical thinking, multitasking, and teamwork in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Excellent computer skills and experience with EMR (eCW preferred).
• Pediatric experience required; preference for pediatric ER, pediatric hospitalist, or pediatric urgent care.
• Active ANCC Board Certification.
• Active RN (if applicable) and NP/PA state license for each state where patients are treated.
• Master of Science in Nursing, Doctoral degree in Nursing, or Master of Physician Assistant Studies required.
• Effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills.

Base salary range: $200,000 – $250,000. Actual salaries may vary based on experience and location. The range is provided for compliance with local regulations.
