Rotating 7 am–7:30 pm / 7 pm–7:30 am.
Shift Compensation: $37.15–$57.58 per hour, experience based.

OverviewRegistered Nurses in the Float Pool provide flexible and adaptable patient care across various units, supporting Peds, PICU, and NICU on a full‑time basis. The Float Pool is a designated supplemental staffing pool used when unit staffing is insufficient. All float nurses are eligible for the clinical ladder and committees.

Float Pool staff follow a 6‑week schedule with a weekend obligation of 4 shifts, 3 major holidays, and 2 difficult‑to‑staff days. Shift incentives available once flex obligations are met.
Job SummaryAs a member of the patient care team, the RN provides safe, age‑appropriate patient care and functions as an advisor and resource for patients and their families.
Requirements- Telemetry experience required
- Peds/PICU/NICU experience required
- 2+ years of RN experience
- RN License in Maryland or a Compact State (as applicable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from AHA
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Stable within 6 months of hire
- Chemo/biotherapy provider course within 6 months of hire
- Preferred:
Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) or Critical Care RN (CCRN) – Pediatric or Neonatal
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from AHA
- Trauma Certification within 6 months of hire
- NIH Stroke Scale certification within 6 months of hire
