The Program Director, Nursing is a 12-month, campus-based, faculty academic program administrator ( APA ) position with responsibility for providing academic and operational leadership, management, and coordination for the undergraduate Entry-Into-Practice ( EIP ) degree program and associated faculty and budget in accordance with Stevenson University and the Berman School of Nursing and Health Professions ( SNHP ) policies and procedures.

The Program Director serves as a member of the Nursing Unit Leadership Team and supports ongoing accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education ( CCNE ) and compliance with state requirements (Maryland Board of Nursing, MBON ) by fostering a culture of assessment; continuous quality improvement; and adherence to the MBON and CCNE Standards for data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collaborating to support student recruitment, retention, and placement efforts; maintaining and evaluating updated curriculum that meets accreditation standards and supports NCLEX success; general program assessment and engagement in the life of the university. The Program Director also fulfills all responsibilities of a full-time faculty member, as defined in the Stevenson University Policies and in the Full-Time Faculty Job Description approved by the SNHP faculty.

The teaching load requirement is 6-9 contact hours per academic year in the EIP Nursing program. Rank and title are determined at the time of hire and will be commensurate with education and experience. The Program Director works as a member of the Nursing Unit team to support overall operations and initiatives as assigned.

Doctorate in Nursing or related field and a Master’s degree in Nursing are required. College level teaching experience, clinical nursing experience within the past four years, and at least two years of experience as an administrator are preferred. CPR certification is required and CNE or certification in area of clinical practice preferred. Must be a Registered Nurse and Maryland Board of Nursing certified or eligible.

• Demonstrated excellence in curriculum development, planning, implementation, and assessment of student learning, with experience in developing and implementing a competency-based curriculum.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to best practices in nursing education and assessment, including the AACN Essentials, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education ( CCNE ) accreditation standards, familiarity with the Maryland State Board of Nursing standards and the Maryland Practice Act (or similar state-level regulations), and the proven ability to ensure program compliance with standards.
• Ability to use classroom and learning management technologies (e.g., Black Board) and proficiency in Microsoft applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel are required.

Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, keyboarding, and repetitive motions.
