Store Shopper

Overview

At Wegmans we are committed to providing our customers with fast, efficient, and convenient options for their grocery shopping. Our curbside pick-up is a fast-growing area of our business. As an in-store shopper, you will utilize the latest technology to engage with customers through an app, shopping their orders and staging them for pickup. If you are passionate about working in a fast-paced environment and giving customers the freshest and best quality products, this could be the role for you!

• Utilize technology to communicate with and fulfill customer orders
• Accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders and stage them in the fulfillment area
• Properly handle all products, including properly bagging items to reach the customer
• Make appropriate substitutions as needed and process payments
• Maintain a clean, organized and well-stocked workspace
• May be expected to carry out other customer service duties within the store, as needed, including running a register

• Customer service experience, preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting
• Ability to use a company-issued device to manage orders and communicate with customers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently

• Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting
• Medium physical demands: standing and walking for up to 4 hours without a break, pushing a shopping cart, repetitive hand and arm movements including using a computer, smart device and telephone
• Frequent reaching (including above shoulder height), occasional to frequent bending, continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment
• Average item weight 5-20 pounds, maximum weight lifted up to 45 pounds occasionally; may receive assistance with heavy items
• Upper-extremity repetition is moderately high; trunk movement involves moderate to moderately high twisting, bending and pivoting
• May be exposed to allergens; work environment is indoors with exposure to cold and freezing temperatures and seasonal outdoor temperatures
• Tools and equipment used include shopping carts, bags, computer, smart device, telephone, printer, cash register, and other common office items
